Get to Know Me
My Story
Hi I’m Mia - a psychology graduate, NLP practitioner and mother of 2 who has found her calling through a series of unfortunate events.
After falling pregnant with my son I had a typical birth plan of most new mothers; natural, no drugs, and just go with the flow. That flow hit me like a tonne of bricks and left me gasping for air. After being induced at 38 weeks, a cascade of interventions, one very graphic artificial rupture of the membrane and 3 days later I had failed to progress and ended up like almost 36% of first time mums in the operating room undergoing a cesarean.

My start to motherhood was shattered, I was exhausted, struggling to get the baby to latch and fighting the hospital staff on threats of having my healthy baby put in NICU if I don’t give him formula. I was left feeling dehumanised and flat out broken. Not the start I had imagined.

I knew there was a lesson to be learnt from this but I couldn’t exactly figure out what it was. After a year of therapy and healing my PTSD, I knew I was ready for my redemption birth and that’s exactly what it was.
I had planned the most empowering HBAC with the support of my partner, sister and amazing midwife. Along the way I learned so much about myself and the ways that I have held myself back. How I’ve been conditioned to listen to others when it comes to my body and how I’ve given all my power away. I also realised that I owe it to my little girl and the next generation of women to have complete body autonomy and the confidence in their voice to say no.
It is now my mission to lead the next generation of mothers toward body autonomy, empowering them to listen to their innate wisdom and embrace their strength. If you’re ready to embark on your own journey of empowerment, I’d love to connect and support you along the way.
